Otto
Otto is a green jelly blob who lives on my Linux desktop and my phone. You ask, he does it, and he tells you what he thinks of it.
Otto started as a port of Bluey by Riley and picked up a raised eyebrow along the way.
Challenge
Bluey by Riley is a desk companion for the Mac and iPhone. I wanted one on my own Linux desktop and Android phone, with enough personality that I'd actually want him around.
Approach
- A squishy jelly face that switches moods: idle, listening, thinking, talking and asleep
- Hold a key and talk: he sets the timer, puts the music on and hands coding jobs off, then reports back
- A voice and a very dry sense of humour: he mocks the situation, never you
- Hops between spots on the screen and lands with a jelly wobble
Result
